I was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. In 1995, I relocated to North Alabama to attend college at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Following my graduation from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, I relocated to Birmingham, Alabama. In 1999, I moved back to North Alabama and began pursuing a career in social work. I obtained my graduate degree in social work from Alabama A&M University. Currently, I live in Decatur and have lived in Decatur for over 20 years.
He Had to Break Me to Bless Me is about my personal journey as a Christian woman and the loss of my faith and belief in God following personal tragedies in my life. I questioned why I had to endure such pain and heartache. Where was God in the midst of my suffering? Why did God allow bad things to happen to good people?
During the darkest times in my life, I was angry with God and felt as if God had robbed me and cheated me, leaving me lonely and abandoned. Each chapter uncovers my emotional journey from being lost to being restored. Through the book I hope to introduce non-believers to Jesus Christ by sharing my testimony of spiritual immaturity to spiritual wholeness.
From my personal journey of restoration, my hope is that individuals will gain an understanding that there is a blessing in all trials and tribulations. I believe all that is endured in life is according to God’s divine purpose and plan for your life. After reading He Had to Break Me to Bless Me, I hope your faith and hope are renewed. I also hope you realize that in the midst of your pain and heartache God has a calling and purpose for your life.
